The year was 1977. While riding in my mother’s Vega, I realized that I had a fascination with the 8-Track’s tone and balance knobs. They seemed to be speaking to me in a voice only I could hear. They said, “Justin, please tweak me.” I felt drawn to them like a pot smoker to a bag of Funyuns. I honed my skills for 32 years and finally in 2009 I felt the time was right. After hearing The Johnny Ball Band, I knew we had to join forces to become an immortal rock powerhouse. Now I have become the first soundman in music history to be deaf in one ear and hear bells in the other. I spend my nights caressing the soft and subtle knobs of my Yamaha MG-32/16.
